Bioregulators are two-to-four amino acid oligopeptides developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson, characterised by organ specificity — each compound is derived from a specific tissue and theorised to modulate gene expression within that same tissue type. Key compounds include Epitalon (pineal), Thymalin (thymus), Pinealon (a blood-brain-barrier-penetrating tripeptide), and Cartalax (cartilage) — the most studied series of tissue-specific peptide regulators in the gerontological research literature.
