What is Crystagen?
A synthetic three-amino-acid peptide and one of the active components of the thymus extract Thymalin, also known as EDP, Crystagen is studied for its effects on immune-cell activity and age-related immune decline. Research focuses on its capacity to fine-tune immune-cell activity in a regulatory rather than purely stimulating way.
- Studied for its proposed regulatory effects on immune-cell signalling.
- Investigated as a peptide bioregulator in immune-tissue research models.
- Examined for fine-tuning of immune-cell activity in vitro.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation of immune gene expression.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Incorporation of a conformationally constrained proline residue at the C-terminal position of an acidic dipeptide core produced Crystagen, a tripeptide within the Khavinson bioregulatory series associated with crystalline lens tissue gene regulation. Also designated Glu-Asp-Pro lens tripeptide, has the molecular formula C14H21N3O8 and a molecular weight of 363.33 g/mol. Its sequence Glu-Asp-Pro combines two anionic residues with the rigid pyrrolidine ring of proline. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using human lens epithelial cell cultures have investigated whether Crystagen modulates transcription of alpha-crystallin and betaB2-crystallin genes, examining promoter occupancy using chromatin immunoprecipitation and luciferase reporter assays. In vivo aged rodent models have explored lens tissue-specific gene expression profiles following systemic Crystagen administration.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
