Crystagen is a synthetic tripeptide consisting of the sequence glutamic acid-aspartic acid-proline (Glu-Asp-Pro), developed by Professor Vladimir Khavinson's group as a tissue-associated short regulatory peptide bioregulator originally derived from crystalline lens tissue fractions. As a member of the Khavinson short regulatory peptide class, Crystagen is studied in preclinical research for its interactions with gene regulatory elements, chromatin organisation, and transcriptional modulation in ocular tissue and lens cell models in vitro.
