What is Pinealon?
A synthetic three-amino-acid peptide small enough to enter the cell nucleus, also known as EDR, Pinealon is studied for its protective effects on the brain and on cognitive development. Research focuses on its recognition of specific DNA sequences and its neuroprotective effects in developmental stress models.
- Studied for its recognition of specific DNA sequences.
- Investigated in developmental-stress research models.
- Examined for neuronal survival signalling in research models.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation of neural gene expression.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Classified within the family of short regulatory peptides derived from pineal gland research, the tripeptide Pinealon has emerged as a subject of preclinical investigation into peptide-mediated gene regulatory mechanisms at the chromatin level. Also designated EDR peptide, has the molecular formula C27H42N8O9 and a molecular weight of 638.68 g/mol. Its sequence Glu-Asp-Arg contains two acidic residues and one basic residue. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro molecular modelling and gel-shift assays have investigated whether Pinealon binds specific promoter regions of genes involved in circadian rhythm regulation and neuronal differentiation. In vivo rodent models have explored pineal gland-specific gene expression profiles following exogenous Pinealon administration, examining whether the compound influences melatonin synthesis enzyme transcription.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
