What is Cartalax?
A synthetic three-amino-acid peptide designed from fragments of cartilage tissue, also known as AED, Cartalax is studied for its effects on cartilage formation and tissue ageing. Research focuses on its influence on genes governing cartilage-cell development, particularly a growth-signalling gene.
- Studied for its proposed influence on cartilage-cell gene expression.
- Investigated as a peptide bioregulator in connective-tissue research models.
- Examined for tissue-specific activity in chondrocyte studies.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation in cartilage models.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Sharing the Ala-Glu-Asp tripeptide core with the well-characterised Epithalon tetrapeptide but lacking the C-terminal glycine, Cartalax occupies a structurally informative position within the Khavinson bioregulatory peptide series as a compound associated with cartilaginous tissue research. Also designated Ala-Glu-Asp cartilage tripeptide, has the molecular formula C13H21N3O8 and a molecular weight of 351.32 g/mol. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using primary articular chondrocyte cultures have examined whether Cartalax modulates transcription of aggrecan, collagen II and SOX9 genes through promoter-level interactions distinct from those observed with Epithalon. In vivo aged rodent models have explored cartilage tissue transcriptomic profiles following systemic Ala-Glu-Asp cartilage tripeptide administration.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
