What is Cardiogen?
A synthetic four-amino-acid peptide designed from fragments of cardiac tissue, also known as AEDR, Cardiogen is studied for its effects on heart-muscle maintenance and age-related cardiovascular decline. Research focuses on its proposed direct action on DNA and its influence on heart-muscle tissue development.
- Studied for its proposed sequence-specific interaction with DNA.
- Investigated as a peptide bioregulator in cardiac-tissue research models.
- Examined for tissue-specific activity in heart-cell studies.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation of cardiomyocyte gene expression.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Extension of the Ala-Glu-Asp tripeptide core with a C-terminal arginine residue, introducing a strongly basic guanidinium group, produced Cardiogen, a tetrapeptide within the Khavinson bioregulatory series associated with cardiac tissue gene regulatory research. Also designated Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg cardiac tetrapeptide, has the molecular formula C19H32N6O9 and a molecular weight of 504.50 g/mol. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using neonatal rat cardiomyocyte cultures have examined whether Cardiogen modulates transcription of cardiac-specific genes including MYH6, TNNT2 and connexin-43, investigating whether the tetrapeptide alters chromatin accessibility at their respective promoter elements. In vivo aged rodent models have explored whether systemic Cardiogen administration produces gene expression changes selective to myocardial tissue.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
