What is Thymulin?
A synthetic nine-amino-acid thymic hormone that requires a zinc ion to become active, Thymulin is studied for its effects on immune-cell development and age-related immune decline. Research focuses on its zinc-dependent activation and its role in T-cell differentiation and thymic ageing.
- Studied for its zinc-dependent activation.
- Investigated in research models for T-cell differentiation.
- Examined for its role in thymic ageing models.
- Used as a research tool to study thymic hormone biology.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Zinc-dependent biological activity sets Thymulin apart from all other thymic peptides, making it the only known endogenous thymic factor whose functional conformation is dictated by metal ion coordination. Also designated Facteur Thymique Serique or FTS (CAS 63958-90-7), carries a molecular weight of 952.21 g/mol as the zinc complex. Its sequence Pyr-Ala-Lys-Ser-Gln-Gly-Gly-Ser-Asn requires stoichiometric zinc binding for conformational integrity. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using zinc-depleted and zinc-replete culture conditions have examined how zinc availability modulates the conformational equilibrium of FTS and its capacity to bind putative thymulin receptors on thymocyte surfaces. In vivo rodent models have investigated circulating Thymulin bioactivity using the rosette inhibition bioassay, examining how systemic zinc status correlates with serum FTS levels.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
