What is Cortagen?
A synthetic four-amino-acid peptide designed from fragments of cerebral cortex tissue, Cortagen is studied for its effects on nerve regeneration and brain tissue function. Research focuses on its proposed direct action on DNA and its effect on nerve regeneration.
- Studied for its proposed sequence-specific interaction with DNA.
- Investigated as a peptide bioregulator in nerve-tissue research models.
- Examined for its effects on nerve regeneration in research models.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation of neural gene expression.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Within the Khavinson bioregulatory peptide framework, the tetrapeptide Cortagen represents a cerebral cortex-derived sequence investigated for its interaction with gene regulatory elements governing neuronal signalling and differentiation pathways. Also designated Ala-Glu-Asp-Pro cortical tetrapeptide, approximate molecular weight of 400 g/mol. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro molecular docking studies and electrophoretic mobility shift assays have investigated whether Cortagen binds complementary nucleotide sequences within promoter regions of genes encoding neurotrophin receptors and synaptic plasticity-associated proteins. In vivo rodent models have explored cortical gene expression profiles following Ala-Glu-Asp-Pro administration using RNA-seq approaches.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
