What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
A synthetic 28-amino-acid peptide and the most studied member of the thymosin family, also known as thymalfasin, Thymosin Alpha-1 is studied for its role in immune activation. Research focuses on its signalling through Toll-like receptors and its effect on the maturation of immune cells.
- Studied for its signalling through Toll-like receptors.
- Investigated in research models for immune-cell maturation.
- Examined in vitro for its effects on T-cell differentiation.
- Used as a research tool to study thymic immune peptides.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
At 28 amino acids with a distinctive N-terminal acetylation, Thymosin Alpha-1 represents one of the most extensively characterised thymic peptides in immunopharmacology research. Also known as Thymalfasin or Zadaxin (CAS 62304-98-7), carries the molecular formula C129H215N33O55 and a molecular weight of 3108.34 g/mol. Thymalfasin is produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using monocyte-derived dendritic cells have investigated whether Zadaxin activates TLR9-mediated MyD88-dependent signalling cascades, examining downstream IRF7 phosphorylation and type I interferon gene induction. In vivo rodent models have explored the compound's influence on splenic dendritic cell maturation markers following systemic Thymalfasin administration.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
