What is Testagen?
A synthetic four-amino-acid peptide designed from fragments of testicular tissue, also known as KEDG, Testagen is studied for its effects on reproductive tissue and age-related decline. Research focuses on its proposed direct action on DNA, entering the nucleus and binding preferentially to specific sequence motifs.
- Studied for its proposed sequence-specific binding to DNA.
- Investigated as a peptide bioregulator in reproductive-tissue research models.
- Examined for tissue-specific activity in research models.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation of gene expression.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Addition of a C-terminal glycine residue to the Lys-Glu-Asp tripeptide core produced Testagen, a tetrapeptide within the Khavinson bioregulatory series investigated for its association with testicular tissue gene regulation. Also designated Lys-Glu-Asp-Gly testicular tetrapeptide, has the molecular formula C19H33N5O9 and a molecular weight of 491.49 g/mol. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using Leydig and Sertoli cell primary cultures have investigated whether Testagen modulates the transcription of genes encoding steroidogenic enzymes and cell-cell junction components. In vivo aged rodent models have explored testicular tissue gene expression profiles following systemic Testagen administration, investigating whether the tetrapeptide produces transcriptomic shifts distinct from those observed with the parent KED tripeptide Vesugen.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
