What is Pancragen?
A synthetic four-amino-acid peptide designed from fragments of pancreatic tissue, also known as KEDW, Pancragen is studied for its effects on pancreatic function and age-related glucose control. Research focuses on its proposed direct action on DNA and its influence on the genes that define insulin-producing and acinar cells.
- Studied for its proposed tissue-specific interaction with DNA.
- Investigated as a peptide bioregulator in pancreatic-tissue research models.
- Examined for its influence on genes defining pancreatic cell types.
- Used as a research tool to study peptide regulation of gene expression.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Incorporation of the bulky aromatic tryptophan residue at the C-terminal position of the Khavinson Lys-Glu-Asp core sequence created Pancragen, a tetrapeptide investigated for its association with pancreatic tissue gene regulatory mechanisms. Also designated Lys-Glu-Asp-Trp pancreatic tetrapeptide, has the molecular formula C29H42N6O9 and a molecular weight of 622.68 g/mol. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using isolated pancreatic islet preparations and INS-1 insulinoma cell lines have investigated whether Pancragen modulates transcription of genes encoding glucose-sensing apparatus components including glucokinase and GLUT2. In vivo aged rodent models have explored pancreatic tissue transcriptomic profiles following Pancragen administration, examining whether the compound selectively modulates islet-enriched versus exocrine-enriched gene expression programmes.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
