Dihexa (PNB-0408) is a synthetic oligopeptide drug derived from the angiotensin IV fragment and designed as a metabolically stabilised analogue of the tetrapeptide Nle¹-angiotensin IV. It binds hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) with extremely high affinity (Kd ~65 pM) and potentiates its activity at the c-Met receptor. Notably, Dihexa is orally bioavailable and blood-brain barrier permeable, making it a distinctive tool in preclinical cognitive and synaptogenic research. It is used in in vitro studies investigating HGF/c-Met signalling, synaptogenesis models, and neurotrophic pathway research.
