What is Adipotide?
A synthetic two-part peptide that homes in on the blood supply feeding fat tissue, also known as FTPP, Adipotide is studied for its effects on fat-tissue reduction. Research focuses on how a homing motif binds proteins on fat-tissue blood vessels before a second sequence disrupts those cells.
- Studied in research models for its homing to adipose-tissue vasculature.
- Investigated for its two-part design that targets and disrupts specific endothelial cells.
- Examined for its selectivity for fat-tissue blood vessels in animal models.
- Used as a research tool to study vascular-targeting peptides.
For research use only. Not intended for human use.
Chimeric peptide design linking a vascular-targeting sequence to a proapoptotic effector domain produced Adipotide, a compound occupying a structurally and mechanistically unique position within preclinical peptide research. Also designated CKGGRAKDC-GG-D(KLAKLAK)2, this dual-domain construct has an approximate molecular weight of 2000 g/mol. The N-terminal CKGGRAKDC motif was identified through phage display screening as a ligand for prohibitin. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis.
In vitro studies using endothelial cell cultures have investigated the binding specificity of the CKGGRAKDC targeting motif for prohibitin and the subsequent internalisation kinetics of the intact chimeric construct. In vivo primate models have examined the biodistribution of Adipotide, investigating whether the targeting domain confers selective vascular accumulation.
Manufactured in a quality-controlled laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch undergoes independent third-party testing using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature-controlled, monitored cold storage system. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
