ACE-031, also designated ACVR2B-Fc or ActRIIB-Fc, is a recombinant fusion protein with an approximate molecular weight of 60,000 g/mol. Produced as a recombinant protein.
In vitro surface plasmon resonance assays have measured the binding kinetics of ACE-031 against a panel of TGF-beta ligands including GDF-8, GDF-11, activin A and activin B. In vivo rodent models have investigated the downstream consequences of broad-spectrum ligand sequestration by ActRIIB-Fc on SMAD2/3 phosphorylation status across multiple tissue types.
