Pharmacokinetics

IGF-1 DES is analogous to IGF-1, and therefore shares many of the same properties and functions. In usual bodily settings, human growth hormone (hGH) permeates, prompting various anabolic processes. Once hGH reaches the liver, it reacts and produces IGF-1. From there, IGF-1 spreads throughout the body, promoting cellular growth in most cells.[2] IGF-1 is quickly inhibited by insulin-like growth factor binding protein, or IGFBP.[3]

IGF-1 DES subverts this inhibitory process through its different structure. Being shorter than IGF-1, IGF-1 DES isn’t as affected by IGFBP. This leads to it remaining in the body longer, interacting with cells.[1]

Scientific Studies

Several studies have been conducted on IGF-1 and its analogs, including IGF-1 DES. A study on live mice subjects demonstrated some of the effects of IGF-1 DES. In the study, mice were injected with the peptide daily for three weeks. At the end of the study, subjects were observed to have higher masses of muscles, including the heart.[1]
